The use of huts, glacier travel techniques, moving together on alpine terrain are all areas which are tricky to get to grips with and need practice to stay current.
Chamonix has a huge variety of alpine objectives and routes, and is much more than simply Mont Blanc. With a short stay it's possible to experience everything that the alps has to offer with rock climbing, via feratta, rocky ridge traverses in the Aiguille Rouges, snowy summits, glacial traverses and mixed routes in the Mont Blanc Massif. Not a bad place to start your Alpine career...
